I should add that the Westy works perfectly with the Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-ray player - and that the BD-35 works perfectly with my Samsung LCD display in 1080p mode using HDMI. Is it the first disc you have tried? Tried swapping HDMI cables, resetting the units, nothing worked. check over here

Steven1142 Guest Hi All, I just put a dvd into my blu ray it said playing, then it said u73 and nothing plays. I have a BD30 running 1.3 firmware, connected through a brand-new Denon AVR-4308CI to a JVC DLA-RS1 projector. How do I tell if my HDMI cable is 1.3 compatiable? If it still continues then try a new cable. https://www.avforums.com/threads/panasonic-bd35-u73-error-message.1024722/

Faulty cable was my problem. Panasonic Blu-ray U72 Error Code I thought it was an isolated incident. Oh - I did upgrade the BD35 firmware to the latest version... http://eng.faq.panasonic.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22987/~/troubleshooting---error-code-u72,-u73---sc-btx70 The Blu has to establish the HDMI handshake to play the media.

Then run it back through the Integra and it will work from then on. U73 Submarine I get the U73 error no matter what I try... Both showed the U73 warning. If the projector is on it will play fine and if I turn the projector off then it keeps on playing just fine...very frustrating.

I think it is likely just that the Westy does not handle the same protocols for HDCP and the only way to resolve this is to call Panasonic to add them https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/u73-error-in-panasonic-dmpbd35eg-k-dvd-player.68539/ Any other ideas before I give up ? I just think designing a spec that doesn't require ALL devices to handle ALL the same protocols is ridiculous & stupid to put a finer point on it.
