If all that fails, maybe try putting it up for sale e.g. Sign in to add this video to a playlist. Cheers. Also try a different storage card, just in case the card has something strange going on with it that is making the camera go into that abnormal state.

Note to self, look carefully before pulling them out to see how they are oriented. You may have to do this several times at different angles, each time power cycling the camera.Hope this helps.
