Might be fortuitous, but it worked. I have stripped it down (very interesting) and found a corroded battery under the control panel (card VEP 51029 cost $6.00) I think that may be the reason that it will I removed the lense and disengaged the focus motor to move the lense to the closed position. Not the first time, sorry Probably the best solution for gunk getting into the camera's "works" is to always keep the camera in a loose, plastic bag, particularly if carrying it I have a panasonic lumix dmc-fh20 camera, and yesterday upon trying to turn it on it displays a screen saying SYSTEM ERROR (ZOOM) and wont work. This type of a problem usually occurs if the camera was dropped while the lens was extended. Panasonic Lumix Tz70 System Error Focus I have both worked in clean rooms and monitored dust in homes, including my own. I only paid about $160 for this camera new from Best Buy last December. Thank you.

It won't turn on at all. I've had this for about 5 months an recently the Lens cover thing had trouble opening. I could force it closed and then turn it on and it would open just fine but would go to the Focus Error again. tries.
Still no joy. If not I may have to replace some boards that may have been damage by water….but we'll see. I have disassembled again and re-connected ribbon cables as firmly as possible. I bought Dec 18th last year as a present for me for Christmas.
